MATCH DAY

Is the culmination of four (or some times a little more) challenging and arduous years, in some ways the most exciting day of the Medical School experience.

On the third Thursday in March in the Jack Farris Student Lounge students receive notice of their residency matches via sealed envelope. Beginning at 8:30 AM the School of Medicine Dean's and Medical School Alumni open the ceremony with light breakfast fare and words of congratulations.

Medical students will open match envelopes at 9 AM and are provided Alumni pins and a champagne toast by the Medical Alumni Association. Matched students pin their results to a large map to show the distribution of training sites and where they will reside for the next few years.

After envelope opening come to celebrate with your classmates, friends, and family at El Torito just across the street from the SOM campus. All are welcome! Tell your friends and family to meet you there!
