Alumni Host Program
Organized by the UCSD Medical Alumni Relations Office, the HOST Program is an opportunity for UCSD alumni to reconnect with their medical school, while reducing medical students' expenses as they travel around the country for residency interviews.
As a volunteer for the HOST Program, you are asked to provide a student with a free place to stay during the interview process- usually for one or two nights. You can also share your personal residency training experience and insight into the medical center and community in which the student is interviewing.
The HOST Program promises to be a wonderful experience for both alumni and students. Alumni will learn firsthand about the Medical School today, the new curriculum, and changes on campus, while students appreciate the opportunity to hear from the alumni. Alumni can participate in the program by clicking here. Students hoping to secure a HOST family should complete the student request form by clicking here.

What Students Are Saying
"I had a very good time in Seattle this weekend with Keith and Danielle. Thanks again for helping me to set this up. It was great to meet their 2 and 7 year old daughters. And by the way, they really appreciated the UCSD t-shirts that I brought them!"Colin McCreight, '05
"It was getting close to the holiday season by the time I interviewed in Kansas City and my host family was so wonderful as we all went to the citys celebration Christmas on the River - to see the district schools' choirs sing carols and to have nice chocolate sweets and see fireworks!"
