EdCom Lab

The Educational Computing Lab is the largest of the computing facilities managed by EdCom. It seats 30; each station has a computer with Windows XP,  Microsoft Office, and Internet Access. The facility also has wireless Intenet access for users with UCSD Wireless accounts, a computer lectern equipped with an interactive pen display interface (Sympodium), a data/video projector, speakers, and white board.

 

The EdCom Lab can be scheduled by UCSD Health Sciences clients only, by approval from the Medical Education Administration.  When not used for classroom activities or special events, it is open for use by all UCSD Health Sciences students.

Location: The Lab is located on the second floor of the MTF (Medical Teaching Facility), adjacent to the EdCom Admin Offices. Access is through the main door at MTF 265.  A map and driving directions can be found in the right hand column of the home page. If you have questions, contact the EdCom office at 858.822.5843.


Hours: Weekly schedules are posted by the door outside of EdCom. In general, the computing lab hours are:  Monday - Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm.



Additional equipment available at the EdCom Lab

  • Flatbed Scanner: Located inside the computer lab, this scanner is available to EdCom clients. Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat are installed on the computer connected to the scanner.

  • Copy Machine: A copier is located across of the EdCom Customer Service desk. It accepts your UCSD ID Card. The machine can do single & double-sided copies. ($0.10 /copy or $0.10 per side).
