How To Install Sophos Anti-Virus on Macintosh OS X (10.4 and older)

Note: Macintosh OS 9 not supported.
  1. Before you start the Sophos installation, remove any other virus software you have installed on your computer.

  2. Download Sophos Anti-Virus for Macintosh OS X.
    Note: Use your AD Username and Password to gain access to the installation files.

  3. Double click on the downloaded unarchived file (Sophos Anti-Virus.mpkg) to start the installation.

  4. In the "Welcome to the Sophos Anti-Virus Installer" dialog box, click Continue to begin the installation.

  5. In the "Important Information" dialog box, click Continue to continue the installation.

  6. In the "Select a Destination" dialog box, select the destination hard drive as the destination volume and click Continue.

  7. In the "Easy Install" dialog box, click Install to start the basic installation.

  8. When the installation is completed, the message "The software was successfully installed" will be displayed.

After install and before doing a scan for viruses, you will need to configure for remote updating as follows:
