Operating System Updates
Each operating system (OS) has its own unique vulnerabilities. People take advantage of these vulnerabilities to spread viruses and worms that can harm your computer, if it is unprotected. EdCom highly recommends keeping your computer up-to-date with all OS updates. We also strongly suggest setting up your computer to automatically download and install new updates as they are made available.
Microsoft and Apple have each included an auto-update feature in their recent OS versions. The table below provides instructions for configuring the auto-update feature on your computer, as well as other inportant information for keeping your operating system up-to-date.
