• Open Safari
• From the Safari menu select Preferences.
• Select the Advanced option
• Click the Proxies: Change Settings button at the bottom.

For Safari users with Mac OS 10.5 and under follow these instructions:

• In the Configure Proxies, select Use a PAC file from the drop-down menu.
• In the PAC File URL field, type:
  • http://webproxy.ucsd.edu/proxy.pac
• Click on the Apply Now button
• Close and restart Safari
• Congratulations! You have successfully configured your Web browser for use with the UCSD Web proxy server.

For Safari users with Mac OS 10.6 follow these instructions:

• Select Automatic Proxy Configuration option as the protocol to configure option.
• In the Proxy Configuration File URL field, type:
  • http://webproxy.ucsd.edu/proxy.pac
• Click on the OK button
• Close and restart Safari
• Congratulations! You have successfully configured your Web browser for use with the UCSD Web proxy server.

• In the Name field, enter your username.
  • Do not add the @ucsd.edu segment of your e-mail address
  • Enter up to the first eight characters if your username is long
• In the Password field, enter your password.
• Click the OK button.
• You may now access all available UCSD- restricted Web sites.
