World Beat Center
A multi-cultural arts organization located in Balboa Park. The center is focused on promoting, presenting and preserving the African and indigenous cultures of the world through music, art, dance, education and technology.
Malcolm X Library and Performing Arts Center
This is the largest branch library in the city of San Diego. It carries books, magazines, and newspapers that are common to the African Diaspora. The African American genealogy section is said to be noteworthy. The center also features artwork by local artists, and film series showcasing the African Diaspora.

Annual Kuumba Fest
San Diego's longest running celebration of African American life and heritage. The three-day festival usually occurs the last week of Black History Month. The celebration includes workshops, community service awards, a hip-hop dance & step competition, plays, and a gospel concert.
San Diego Museum of African Art
Established in 2002, this museum exhibits tribal African art from all regions of Africa. The museum offers monthly African film showings, storytelling, and workshops for teachers. They also host a "Taste of Africa" complete with food and live music.
