ISP Opportunities

Developing VR Lessons for Medical Education

ISP opportunities exist for imaginative medical and graduate students with an interest in developing, implementing and evaluating next-generation teaching and learning materials; applying advanced technology to medical training; working with a variety of medical imaging and VR technologies; and improving their knowledge of regional anatomy.

Student projects can be highly individualized, depending on interest, class year and schedule. However, all will have in common the responsibility to develop and evaluate a lesson for incorporation into our VR-based anatomy application, called Anatomic VisualizeR©. Students will have ample opportunities to work with VR technologies. However, this is not a computer-based project. The emphasis will be on content, instructional design and evaluation.

Students interested in discussing a possible ISP in developing VR lessons for medical education shouldcontact Helene Hoffman, PhD (hhoffman@ucsd.edu or 534-3656).
