The percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram is used to assess the intrahepatic bile ducts if a cholestatic picture is present. As one can see, the hepatic ducts do not appear enlarged or constricted in this study and the contrast flows freely. Mrs. Jones does not appear jaundiced and her LFTs are normal. Given this patientıs labs and physical findings, a PTCA is not indicated.
