The Human Condition Literary and Art Magazine:
CALLING FOR ART, PHOTOGRAPHY, POETRY, AND PROSE SUBMISSIONS

The Human Condition (UCSD School of Medicine's annual art and literary magazine) is currently accepting submissions of poetry, prose, and artwork / photography for review. Any student, faculty member or staff member of UCSD SOM is welcome to submit. We are excited to view the creative work of such talented people! Here are the details:

DEADLINE:  February 7, 2008

GUIDELINES:  Each piece will be considered on its own merits – there are no hard guidelines. We will work with you to make it suitable for publication. ALL PIECES MUST BE ORIGINAL PIECES BY THE AUTHOR – preferably never before published.

HOW TO SUBMIT: 
With all submissions include:
1) Your FULL NAME and TITLE (M.D., MSII, etc.)
2) Category of submission: prose, poetry, or artwork / photography.
3) Title of your piece.
4) Your e-mail address and preferred contact telephone number.

Submissions can be made in TWO ways:
1) SUBMIT ONLINE NOW  (this is the preferred method of submission for written pieces – attaching Word / RTF / PDF documents is preferred to text files since any formatting will be preserved).

2) Or they can be emailed to:  The Human Condition  (in case you have problems with online submissions, be sure to include your information and piece title/category as described above).

ARTWORK / PHOTOGRAPHY:  If you are submitting artwork or photography that is larger than the available folder, please hand your submission to Ramon Aldecoa in MTF 180. If you are submitting a written work, please submit both electronic and paper copy if possible.
