Medicine 401: Procedures Course

During the Ambulatory Care section of the Medicine Clerkship, students participate in a four-week procedures course that takes place every Thursday afternoon in the Simulation Center.   Organized and taught by Tuan Dang MD and Sean Park MD, this course uses a variety of partial task trainers to give students hands-on experience with arterial and central line placement, epicondylar injection, knee arthrocentesis, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, shoulder arthrocentesis, and thoracocentsis.
