| Participants will learn the fundamentals of designing a program and evaluation plan for almost any activity using the Logic Model as a guide for this process. The Logic Model is a well-known and widely accepted way to design and evaluate programs and is often used in grant proposals. However, the Logic Model has broad applicability and can be used for any activity for which goals have been set. It provides an outline of the steps needed to achieve success and a blueprint to evaluate both the achievement of those goals (i.e. measurable outcomes) and the process used to reach success. Please bring ideas related to a current course (even a single lecture or small group), a grant proposal, or office project with you to this seminar. Any project or activity you would like to plan for will do-even personal goals such as achieving improved life-work balance, increasing healthy eating, or improving happiness. The first half of the seminar will involve learning the basics about the Logic Model and the use of the Logic Model to design a blueprint for program evaluation. The second half of the seminar will be a hands on approach to designing your program and a corresponding evaluation plan. | In this 2-hour workshop, participants will have a hands-on opportunity to learn the basics of digital image editing using Adobe Photoshop CS3. Participants will learn techniques to remove dust and scratches; crop; straighten; adjust exposure, brightness, contrast, and color balance; sharpen; resize; and save as a file format that is appropriate for the application. It is critical that participants have a working knowledge of basic Photoshop tools and/or have previously taken the M.E.D.S. Beginning Photoshop course. |
