Deadlines

March 1, third year:Last day to name an ISP Chair
May 1, third year:ISP Proposal and all accompanying forms due to the ISP Coordinator's - MET 330.20 - Office (or student will be prevented from enrolling in his or her first fourth year block.)
December 1, fourth year:ISP Proposal must be approved by both the student's ISP Committee and the Electives Committee (or student may not continue fourth-year clerkships)
April 1, fourth year:The last day to submit completed ISP draft to ISP committee members
May 1, fourth year:The last day to submit the following to the ISP Coordinator's Office:
  • Copy of the final project (ISP write-up should be submitted via email to Andrea Mondragon.)
  • ISP Committee Member Evaluation form  (PDF PDF - 32 kb | Word Word Document - 34 kb) from each non-Chair Committee Member
  • An ISP Completion Verification/Chair Evaluation form (PDF PDF - 35 kb | Word Word Document - 37 kb) from the ISP Chair
  • Completion of Student Evaluation of ISP experience Authentication Required
  • ISP Library Consent (PDF PDF - 260 kb | Word Word Document - 18 kb) In the past, the UCSD Biomedical Library stored hard copies of all ISPs.  Students now have the option to post their ISPs to a School of Medicine ISP-specific page on eScholarship, which provides open access, scholarly publishing services to the University of California. No ISPs will be posted without the appropriate consent.

These deadlines are absolutely final, providing the minimum time necessary for the Electives Committee to review proposals and for ISP committees to evaluate final projects.  Failure to meet the May 1, third-year deadline for the ISP proposal will result in submission of the student's name to the Standing and Promotions Committee, and the student will not be allowed to enroll in fourth year courses until a proposal is submitted. Senior students who do not submit their approved ISP by the May 1 deadline will not be allowed to participate in graduation exercises that year.
