In this survey image of lung parenchyma, a cross-section of a bronchiole and associated blood vessel are shown at lower left. A terminal bronchiole and blood vessel in longitudinal section is evident near its branch point from the larger bronchiole. The terminal bronchiole becomes a respiratory bronchiole with characteristic alveolar out-pockets. |
