A low-power survey view of the gastro-duodenal junction shows the gut lumen at upper right. Note the characteristic gastric mucosa (i.e. gastric pits and glands) at left. At lower right can be seen villi (finger-like projections) of the duodenum and in the submucosa the mucous-secreting Brunner’s glands. |
