In this higher-power view of the posterior pituitary, nuclei of the only indigenous cell type, the glial pituitcyte can be seen. Aside from blood vessels, the rest of the field consists of unmyelinated axons projecting from cells bodies located in the supraoptic and paraventricular nuclei of the hypothalamus. |
