ExamSoft & Examplify - Online Quiz/Exam Application


ExamSoft is the progam you will be using for most of your weekly quizzes and block / thread exams.

After your account is registered in ExamSoft, you will need to download the Examplify application (new version of SofTest software) onto your computer. 

Your login will be your UCSD username and password
 (e.g., the same username and password you use to login to your UCSD Email).

When your first exam/quiz is available you will be notifiied via email to download the exam to your computer. Then at a set time (e.g Friday 5pm for quizzes or at the start of a block exam) you can open and take the exam (an exam password will be required for all exams).

Your computer will be locked down during the time you are taking the exam. After the exam is finished, Examplify will re-connect to the internet (it might take up to 30 seconds) and upload your exam responses to ExamSoft.

NOTE: Use your laptop computer for this application, as iPad support is only provided by ExamSoft and not UCSD.

Register for ExamSoft & Install the Examplify Software:

  1. Go to the UCSD ExamSoft custom home page:
  2. Log in under 'Exam Takers' using:

    Login ID: UCSD username
    Password: UCSD password
  3. Download Examplify and complete the installation process.
  4. Launch Examplify and register using:
    Institution ID: ucsdhs
    Login ID: UCSD Username
    Password: UCSD password

Download an Exam:

  1. Connect to the Internet and double-click the Examplify icon on your computer's desktop.
  2. In the Examplify Home window, click the "Refresh Exam List" button (on the bottom left of the exam list).

  1.  Select the exam to download and click "Download Exam." (see screen shot above)
  2. When the download is complete the screen for that exam will have the prompt to enter the exam password.

Make sure to read all of the instructions on the ExamSoft UCSD custom home page.

  • For any technical questions in regards to SofTest - including any individual technical support that is needed - call the exam taker support line at 1-866-429-8889 (or live chat) from 8:30am-8:30pm EST Monday-Friday and Saturday from 8:30am-6:30pm EST.
