Visiting Senior Students

The 2018-2019 elective catalog and application cycle will open on the VSLO/VSAS site beginning on March 9. There is no advantage to applying early.

UC San Diego School of Medicine welcomes eligible senior visiting students' participation in our senior electives as space permits.  We work closely with visiting students to optimize educational opportunities for students in the final stages of their medical school training.  This site is designed to provide you with in-depth information regarding eligibility requirements and clinical opportunities.

General Information

  • Our program currently accepts applications from students from North American (US, Canada, Puerto Rico) LCME-accredited medical schools and COCA-accredited osteopathic schools.

  • UCSD does not accept students who attend international or off-shore medical schools for this program.

  • Do not contact faculty or administrative staff directly to attempt to arrange clinical experiences. Clinical elective experiences for senior medical students must be coordinated through the Visiting Student Program.
