Clinician Scientist Training Program
University of California, San Diego
Department of Neurosciences

The program supports post-residency M.D.s for a period of 3-5 years in the pursuit of hypothesis-
driven neuroscience research, including basic science research, that may in the future lead to the development of new therapies or to new insights into the mechanistic basis of human disease. Individuals in the program have the option of obtaining a Ph.D.  The enrollee can choose from one
of nearly one hundred outstanding neuroscience labs in the local community, including UCSD,
the Salk Institute, Scripps Research Foundation, or the Burnham Institute, to pursue their research.
