Welcome to the official website for the Association of Native American Medical Students (ANAMS) at UC San Diego School of Medicine. This page serves as a resource for prospective applicants, current medical students, and faculty.
ANAMS has three primary goals:
- Supporting Native American medical students in the successful completion of their graduate health sciences curricula.
- Providing a forum for the interchange of ideas and information of mutual interest and support between Native American graduate health professions students.
- Assisting Indian organizations and federally-recognized Indian tribes with the recruitment and retention of Native Americans into medicine and allied health professions.
ANAMS represents Native American students and those interested in Native American health, and is primarily supported by the Office of Student Affairs at UC San Diego School of Medicine and the Association of American Indian Physicians (AAIP). I encourage you to explore this website, and to contact us if you have any questions.
