 Medical Student Volunteer Opportunity:

ASCP Case Reports, formerly known as CheckSample, is an online publication of case reports in the areas of clinical chemistry, cytopathology, forensic pathology, hematology, microbiology, pathology informatics, surgical pathology, and transfusion medicine.

Elective Courses at UCSD

Preclerkship:

Pre-Clerkship Experience in Laboratory Medicine (PATH 216); Mouse Models of Human Disease (PATH 223); and Practical Histopathology in Mouse Models of Human Disease - Guides to Phenotyping the Genetically Altered Mouse (PATH 234).

For third-year medical students:

Two-week intensive experiences ("Selectives") are available in Surgical Pathology (UCSD Medical Center), Anatomic Pathology (Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System), and Neuropathology (UCSD Medical Center).

For fourth-year medical students: Autopsy, Cytology, Forensic Pathology, Laboratory Medicine, Opthalmic Pathology, Surgical Pathology, and Pediatric Pathology.
