Doctors Ought to Care

Our mission is to educate and inspire...

Doctors-Ought-to-Care (DOC) is a community-based program run by medical students at the UCSD School of Medicine. DOC is designed to send medical students out into local schools--elementary, middle, and high--to give classroom presentations on a variety of important health topics. Our mission is to improve the knowledge and health of children and adolescents while providing medical students with a better understanding of the communities surrounding UCSD.

The DOC Program currently offers one-hour presentations in the following subject areas:
  • DOC AIDS/Sex
  • DOC Doc (How to Become a Doctor/Health Professional)
  • DOC Exercise
  • DOC Nutrition
  • DOC Substance Abuse
  • DOC Sun Safety
  • DOC Tobacco

We hope to expand the partnership between UCSD and San Diego elementary, middle, and high schools

so please contact doc-admin@ucsd.edu to participate in this fun, health-promoting program!
