LGBTQ-PhaM

As a student-run organization, LGBTQ-PhaM coordinates a variety of events for educational, entertainment, networking, and social purposes, and supports the efforts of the undergraduate LGBT Resource Center.

Events for the 2020-2021 Academic Year include:

Fall Quarter

  • LGBTQ-PhaM: Orientation week introduction (September 2020)
  • Queer Jeopardy (September 2020)
  • Rainbow Pin Ceremony (November 2020)

Winter Quarter

  • SoCal LGBTQIA+ Health Conference (2/21/21)
    • In the face of an ongoing public health crisis and a critical reckoning with the systemic oppression of Black Americans, we have been continuously compelled to look both within and beyond ourselves at what it means to promote justice and drive much-needed social change. As a platform that represents and advocates for a vastly diverse community, we felt it was imperative to ground the 2021 SoCal LGBTQIA+ Health Conference in the central tenets of anti-racism and intersectional identity. Our 2021 theme, Connections: Examining the Intersections of LGBTQIA+ Healthcare, seeks to illuminate the ways in which these issues inform and shape health care accessibility. Featuring speakers who address topics ranging from the multifaceted impact of the medical industrial complex to inclusive sexual health practices and delivery of effective LGBTQIA+ care, we strive to create a space that will promote further critical reflection.

Spring Quarter

    • Monday: Introduction from Daniella McDonald, founder of UCSD TWOV
    • Tuesday: Healthcare Provider Panel
    • Wednesday: 'Disclosure' Movie Screening & Discussion
    • Thursday: Community Member Panel
    • Friday: Keynote Speaker Dr. Marci Bowers

  • Hillcrest social (9/27/19, ~8pm, Urban MO's)
  • Diversity Month talk: National Coming Out Day (10/11/19, 12-1pm, Liebow)
  • Rainbow Pin Ceremony (November 2019)

  • SoCal LGBT Health Conference (1/20/19)
    • We seek to unite LGBTQIA+ communities, healthcare providers, and allies at this year’s conference to empower individuals to advocate for our community’s most vulnerable, steadfast in the knowledge that we are stronger together and the belief that no one should be left behind.
