Time Frames
Students should begin thinking about an ISP at the earliest possible opportunity. Students can take time during their studies in the first and second years to work on a project and receive 296 or 299 elective credit. Time/credit for work on a project counts toward the elective requirement of 15 hours during years one and two. There are, in addition, two blocks of time that students most often use to complete a project: the summer following the first year (see "Project Resources" for summer research opportunities) and elective time taken in the fourth year.
Although only one ISP is required, a student may work on additional projects. Additional projects should not interfere with satisfactory completion of all other graduation requirements.
